Generally speaking, looking at the current constellation of forces, a military solution is essentially non-existent. If one were possible, the U.S. would have already attacked by now. But they haven't, and they likely won't. There is "only" a political solution left—the real question is when all the main actors will finally realize this.
As for the Persian Gulf, the moment the attack occurred, the U.S. immediately abandoned (effectively fled) more than 13 massive airbases. Within hours, an immense projection of power completely vanished, leaving the Gulf States and Israel entirely exposed out in the open.
The Gulf States now find themselves completely vulnerable, even if the Iranians never fire another single missile.
Thank you for bringing such a knowledgeable guest to discuss the Gulf States and the impact of Trump’s Iran War. Much appreciated!
My pleasure, Karyle!
Thank you for this very informative interview with an expert in the region. Excellent guest.
You’re quite welcome, Lynn!
This was one of the most educational podcasts about an area that has become so important today, of which I knew so little. Dania was amazing.
So glad to hear that, Lorraine! Thank you!
