Netanyahu (with Trump on board), and Trump himself are both going for total capitulation or annihilation of "the enemy"...in Iran, in Lebanon. "Negotiations" and proclamations keep the financial markets moving making money for some and the polls slowly going down. These leaders have no regard for International law or domestic law. They don't respect norms or process. They have weapons.They have no idea about what the results of this chaos is bringing either. It's easy to see Trump as a rogue operation, that this country is being used for personal objectives, to stay in power, one party rule, torn apart in the process.
It's immoral and lawless and appalling. One year and a half of this has gone by. And the only thing putting restraints on this is Iran's retaliation and hold on Hormuz .
China has started to weigh in now about opening the strait.
So talk about legal or illegal is almost moot unless there is some enforcement. Do we wait for international trials in a few years? We are horrified but we must pay attention. Good questions- can we repair? Can we be trusted? We have a lot of work to do when we can get to it. At least we are trying, those that can and would, to keep informed and care still about the country. This is hard and painful.
So when will this administration will be held accountable for so many crimes?
